The NSW Mental Health Commission recently hosted an online event, Mental Health at Work: COVID-19, tuning in to lived experience in and out of work.

Panellists explored mental health conversations and stigma in the workplace, and discussed support for people with lived experience of mental health issues in and out of work.

BEING Supported Senior Peer Support Specialist, Georgie Hartigan, lent her voice to the conversation, speaking about the BEING Supported Mental Health Peer Support Line and why this vital service is unique. Georgie also talked about the role of the peer support specialist, how to become a peer worker, and shared a little about what inspired her to become a peer worker herself.
